Relation between the council of states( rajya sabha) and the house of the people (Lok sabha)
President is the head of the state.
- The lok sabha is more powerful and more important than rajya sabha
- Members of the lok sabha are elected by the people themselves.
- Members of the rajya sabha are elected by the state legislature.
- The relation can be studied with point of relation as of the legislature and of the executive.
Legislative
- As regards the ordinary bils the power of the council of the states and the lok sabha is almost equal.
- An ordinary bill may orginate in any of the 2 houses and require the approval of the both houses before they receive the assent of the president and enacted as the law.
- In case of any disagreement between the 2 houses the president summons the 2 houses to joint sitting and disagreement removed through a majority votes in such joint session.
- The lok sabha is in better position in case ordinary bill.
- The council of house is permanent and not subject to dissolution.
- As regard of the amendment of the constitution both the houses enjoy equal power.
- The proclamation of emergency issued under article 352 is required to be laid before each house of the Parliament.

- removed from his office as resolution of the Rajya sabha passed by a majority of all then member of the Rajya sabha and agreed by the house of the people( Lok sabha)
- the first passed by the council of the state but it effective only when the LOk sabha agrees to it.
